I have been teaching private voice lessons for 10 years. I attended College for Musical Theatre and further gained degrees in English Literature, Music Literature, Vocal Pedagogy and Vocal Performance.

I began dance lessons at 6, piano lessons at 9 and voice lessons and flute lessons at 16. I first fell in love with vocal music singing in the church choir when I was 9. I have always loved how music made me feel and I loved being part of a group doing something special for others.

I am comfortable teaching and performing both musical theater and classical styles. I am comfortable teaching a wide range of voice types, skill levels, and experience.

I continue to find joy in music whether it be through adjudicating, directing, conducting, orchestral, opera or musical theatre performing and instruction.

I am thrilled to offer a community for musicians of all ages to learn, inspire, and perform together.

Megan is majoring in Piano Performance at SIUE. Originally from Sparta, IL, she participates in multiple ensembles on campus including Piano Ensemble, Orchestra, Wind Symphony, and Concert Band. Megan loves accompanying for classes on campus and for churches. She enjoys teaching piano to all levels and ages.

I am so excited to be teaching at Tessitura Music! I love getting to know my students and see their progress at the piano. My favorite thing about music is how it connects all groups of people and translates emotion into song. Helping kids and adults alike grow in their musical abilities and expression is my favorite thing about my job!

I have been teaching private voice lessons for over a year. I currently attend SIUE, majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in Vocal Performance and Music. I am also seeking my endorsement in Music.

My love for singing began at a young age. Most children would get a bedtime story read to them at night. I got a bedtime story, and my father and I would sing many songs before I would fall asleep. From there I fell in love with music at church. It inspired me to begin piano lessons at 6 years old, flute at 9, and voice lessons at 11.

I am a self-motivated, reliable, responsible, enthusiastic, and hard-working person. I love teaching children the wonders of music, and seeing them become passionate about it!

A native of Edwardsville, Spencer has been singing for over 20 years, first starting in his church choir at Trinity Lutheran Church and School at the age of six. Since then, he has worked extensively in many local productions and ensembles, landing his first role as Winthrop in SIUE’s production of “Music Man” in 2010 followed by his operatic debut in 2013 as Amahl in “Amahl and the Night Visitors” also through SIUE. 

Spencer also performed in multiple local and Edwardsville High School stage productions. Spencer was a member of the EHS chamber choir for three years, and was selected for the ILMEC Honors All-State Chorus his Junior and Senior years. 

Receiving his bachelors in music from Illinois Wesleyan University granted him many opportunities to sing with internationally acclaimed ensembles and performers: Andrea Boccelli, Orpheus Mandolin Ensemble, Illinois Symphony Orchestra, and more. Having over five years of experience teaching voice lessons, he has recently joined with the St. Louis Symphony Chorus and Tessitura Music to help provide quality musicianship to the area.
